Santa Julia is the no.1 organic wine producer in Argentina, and was the first winery in Argentina to carry the Fair Trade Seal. These accolades go to the heart of the Santa Julia winery. The Zuccardi family has a deep commitment to the environment and their employees.

Santa Julia started from very humble beginnings. Ing. Alberto Zuccardi begins to experiment with new irrigation systems in Mendoza which is really a desert at the foot of the Andes. In 1963 he established a vineyard in the Maipú region to show the area's producers the functionality of an irrigation system created by him. In 1982, It was decided to focus the production of high quality wine varieties. The winery is called after Julia, Ing. Alberto Z Zuccardi’s granddaughter
The vision for Santa Julia began to crystalised around the following principles: reaching the highest levels of quality, through sustainable practices that contribute to caring for the environment and being useful to the community.
In 2004, with the aim of producing wines in the most natural way possible, the first certification of organic vineyards was achieved after years of developing sustainable farming. In 2013, two of Santa Julia’s main vineyards were Fair For Life certified. This allows a fairer development of the socio-economic activities of our workers. In 2020, Santa Julia have taken it a step further by developing natural wines, the first of which is El Burro Malbec.
